Multimodal CT pc-ASPECTS in infratentorial stroke: diagnostic and prognostic value

Diagnosis of posterior circulation stroke may be challenged. National Institutes Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and brain imaging (non-contrast computed tomography-CT) are used for diagnosis; evaluation on remains a limit NIHSS, the value non-contrast CT (NCCT) is limited due to artifacts caused by bones base skull. We tested validity prognostic Alberta Program Early Score (pc-ASPECTS) in patients with stroke. Pc-ASPECTS allots 10 points. studied 50 applied pc-ASPECTS NCCT, angiography, Perfusion. evaluated correlation pc-ASPECT outcome parameters Out patients, CTP showed abnormalities 34 cases. The score calculated + angio had sensibility 24%, CT, CTPerfusion gain 72%. Pc-ASPECT MTT resulted more reliable parameter: given NIHSS at discharge, mRS 3 months was severe alteration. Outcome discharge 1 higher admission. usefulness predicting functional acute that appears powerful marker outcome.
